YOGAlicious... a Spartanburg Studio.
Adrienne Ables, Monica Foster, & Catherine Querin founded YOGAlicious Yoga Studio in September of 2006. Before that, we had all been successfully teaching yoga throughout Spartanburg and saw the need for a centralized location. We found a small space in the heart of downtown Spartanburg, hung our shingle out, and we were open for business! Over the years, YOGAlicious has grown and we now have 10 teachers, in addition to the three of us, and five work-trade staff. In September of 2010, we expanded into our new downtown location in the Bijou Building at 147 E. Main St. - between Carolina Cash and Diamond Jewelers. We are convenient to local businesses, restaurants, and shops and offer free parking in the Carolina Cash parking lot on Broad Street. A cozy sitting area and retail store welcomes you to our studio.
At YOGAlicious, we truly believe that yoga is for everybody. Our goal is to provide our community with knowledgeable and experienced teachers who promote a safe and compassionate environment. We offer an array of classes 7 days a week and various workshops throughout the year. For class times, see schedule. Thank you for visiting our website and we look forward to seeing you in the studio soon!
What is Yoga?
The yoga tradition is thought to be thousands of years old. The word yoga is loosely translated as “union” or “yoking”. A yoga practice combines poses with the breath in an effort to balance both the body and mind. There are many benefits of yoga. Yoga reduces stress and improves concentration and balance. A regular yoga practice will make your body stronger and more flexible. It aids circulation, digestion and respiration. It improves posture and can alleviate back and neck pain. Yoga can help you lose weight and can also ease menstrual cramps and symptoms of menopause. It helps to regulate hormones and can help relieve depression, jet lag, insomnia and high blood pressure.

Free Yoga - SEVA SERIES
Seva is a Sanskrit word that means "volunteer work" or "selfless service." Each month at YOGAlicious, we will offer a different teacher's class for free. This is our service to you, our community.
February's SEVA class will be Children's Yoga (5-9 year olds) with Toy Wong on Satruday, February 11th, 12:30 - 1:30pm. Children will have fun while improving strength balance, flexibility, and bringing a sense of heightened awareness to their young minds and bodies. Through regular practice, children make significant progress with regard to their balance and strength, especially core strength (belly). Best of all, they are very proud of what they can do! During class we will stretch, learn yoga poses, practice breathing, act out stories with poses, and sing. Students should wear comfy clothes and be prepared to shake off shoes and socks and have fun! ***This is a drop off class***
